St. Augustine Art Association’s Nature & Wildlife Art Exhibition 2018

St Augustine Art Association Nature & Wildlife Art Exhibition 2018 – It’s that time of year. The time for the St. Augustine Art Association’s Nature & Wildlife Exhibition. After missing the 2017 exhibition, I am very happy to have a painting in this year’s show. To ship my artwork from my home in New Jersey to St. Augustine, Florida, I used the MasterPak Box. I’ve found it to be a very reliable and reusable box for shipping delicate artwork. The MasterPak box features three layers of foam with a puncture shield just inside the cardboard of the box. The center foam has perforated square that allows the artist to tear away just the perfect shape square or rectangle to give the artwork a tighter fit inside the box.

Painting Talons on the Golden Eagle

Painting Talons on the Golden Eagle – The progress has been slow but everything is looking good compared to 6 months ago when this painting was headed for the dumpster. Anyway I added the base coat for the feathers and realized that the talons and the branch that they were gripping needed to be completed before the feathers.

Finished the talons and will resume work on the feathers soon. Painting the branch and the talons gripping the branch I used some of my favorite brushes. My Windsor & Newton Regency Gold #1 Liner and several of my Robert Simmons White Sable Rounds, #2, #3 and #4! Great brushes! Also in the photo is my Italian made palette knife that I’ve had since the 1980’s!

MasterPak boxes come with cushioning that is made up of small perforated squares that you tear away to create a custom fit for your artwork. Genius!

St Augustine Art Associations 7TH Annual Nature Wildlife Exhibit – Fortunately, I have had two paintings selected to take part in the St. Augustine Art Association’s 7TH Annual Nature & Wildlife Exhibition. This juried exhibition has been featured by the St. Augustine Art Association Gallery once a year for the last seven years. Now I have the privilege of exhibiting my artwork in this year’s show.

Being a New Jersey resident, this requires shipping my paintings to the gallery in St. Augustine, Florida. Once delivered, they can hang them and arrange them suitably with the fine artwork of all the other artists. To safely ensure the delivery of my artwork and make a good first impression, I purchased custom art shipping boxes from MasterPak.

MasterPak (http://www.masterpak-usa.com) has a great website that allows you to choose the correct box for your painting based on the framed width, height and thickness of your framed artwork. Additionally, each box is rated by a crush weight and have puncture proof barriers on the inside. MasterPak boxes contain three foam cushions. There is one cushion for the top. One in the middle which surrounds the framed artwork. And there is one cushion on the bottom. Also, one of the best features of the MasterPak boxes is that the center foam cushion inside is perforated into squares. This allows you to tear out a section of the middle cushion giving your artwork a custom fit inside the box. MasterPak recommends that you keep that section that was removed so you can use the box again for a different sized piece of art.

My hope is that my paintings will sell. The St. Augustine Art Association will be very happy and the boxes will return to me empty. The exhibition runs from July 23rd to August 28th. Please stop by if you are in the St. Augustine, Florida area during that time and check out the exhibition. I’ll be there for the opening reception on Saturday evening, July 23rd so please stop in and say hello.

Why do I have two print on demand stores? Fine Art America is well established in the USA. Saatchi is well known in the UK and Europe in general. Saatchi concentrates on selling fine art prints using quality papers and original art. Fine Art America offers that too. But they also allow people to buy other stuff like bedsheets, shower curtains, beach towels, pillows and much more, with your favorite artwork on it.
